A hallmark of the Grand Yokozuna is his gigantic rope belt, slung around his massive frame and with its loops protruding prominently behind its back. Several Sumo Warriors have to work together to adorn Akashi Sho with this symbol of his position and it is said that Kami dwell in the rope, observing the Yokozuna’s actions and judging their adherence to tradition.
