The Empire

The Empire is a vast nation of Men that fights for its survival with each passing day. Ruled over by the Emperor, Karl Franz, the discipline and martial skill of its armies is renowned throughout the Old World. The backbone of the Empire's military might, and the reason it has endured in a world filled with both brutal savages and bloodthirsty monsters, is its armies of professional soldiers.  An Empire army deployed for battle is a magnificent spectacle. The Emperor's forces comprise columns of brightly uniformed soldiers marching to war beneath glorious banners. These seasoned warriors are supported by a wide assortment of troops, including noble knights armoured in fine polished steel, thunderous black-powder artillery pieces, mysterious Battle Wizards and religious devotees who can harness the power of the gods.

Two hand weapons. The Sigmarite Warhammers give Bertha the Armour Piercing (1) special rule. In addition, she gains +1 To Wound models with the Daemonic, Undead or Vampiric special rules.

One use only. The Holy Relic allows Bertha and any unit she joins to automatically pass the first Leadership they are required to make during the game.

One use only. Blessed Water can be used in the same way as a throwing weapon. If it hits, it inflicts one automatic Wound which Ignores Armour Saves against models with the Daemonic, Undead or Vampiric special rules.

Infantry

Ranks A unit of Infantry is required to be five or more models wide in order to be able to gain rank bonus. Unit Strength Infantry have a Unit Strength of 1. Line of Sight Infantry have a Line of Sight value of 1. Base Size  Infantry have an approved base size of 20x20mm, 25x25mm, 25x50mm, 30x30mm and 40x40mm.

Special Character

The Warhammer Army books each include the rules for several Special Characters within their pages. They are famous, named war leaders and mighty mages, tales of whose legendary (or nefarious) deeds have travelled far and wide, such as the Emperor Karl Franz, Grom the Paunch of Misty Mountain, the infamous Vampire Lord Vlad von Carstein and many more besides. Special Characters are exceptional individuals but, more importantly for our army selection purposes, they are unique – each can be included in an army only once.
