Wood Elves

Learn the tales of Ariel and Orion, the Mage Queen and Hunter King, and prepare to defend this most wondrous of realms to your dying breath. The Wood Elves are an army of hunters, masters of the arrow and the spear. Keen-eyed archers stride to war alongside antler-helmed knights, otherworldly enchantresses and cruel-hearted forest spirits. The Wood Elves are ranked amongst the finest warriors of the Warhammer world, and are seldom overmatched. Whether you seek to vanquish your foe from afar or eye-to-eye, with sorcery or spell-woven steel, with the valour of Elves or the eternal wrath of the forest itself, your Wood Elf army will speed you to victory.

Aspect of Athel Loren is an augment spell that is cast on the wizard themself. Until the start of your next Magic phase, all friendly units with the Forest Spirit special rule gain a Ward save (6+) as long as they remain within 12" of the caster.

Monstrous Infantry

Ranks As monstrous infantry are so much larger than normal troops, they require fewer warriors to fill out a rank. Where Infantry need at least five models in order to be able to gain rank bonus, a unit composed purely of monstrous infantry needs only three models. Essentially, wherever the rules say 'a rank of five or more models' treat it as reading 'a rank of three or more models'. Supporting Attacks A monstrous infantry model can make as many supporting attacks as are on its profile, up to a maximum of three, rather than the usual one supporting attack. Special Rules Monstrous Infantry are subject to the following special rules: Fear, Swiftstride. Unit Strength Monstrous Infantry have a Unit Strength of 3. Line of Sight Monstrous Infantry have a Line of Sight value of 2. Base Size  Monstrous Infantry have an approved base size of 40x40mm or 50x50mm.

The Warhammer Army books each include the rules for several Special Characters within their pages. They are famous, named war leaders and mighty mages, tales of whose legendary (or nefarious) deeds have travelled far and wide, such as the Emperor Karl Franz, Grom the Paunch of Misty Mountain, the infamous Vampire Lord Vlad von Carstein and many more besides. Special Characters are exceptional individuals but, more importantly for our army selection purposes, they are unique – each can be included in an army only once.
