Nippon

The Empire of Nippon demands much of its Samurai: service to one’s lord, service to one’s Clan, and service to one’s Emperor. Bushido’s staunch and unyielding code of conduct binds Samurai to duty, strengthening their character and defining their choices. A Nipponese army on the march is a spectacular sight to behold. Thousands, sometimes tens of thousands of Samurai and Ashigaru march in formation, resplendent in their armour, the sun glittering off their weapons, their battle standards and back-banners fluttering, the dust of their passage lingering long after they have marched on.

Great weapon. The Oni-Kanabo gives the wielder the Multiple Wounds (D3) special rule.

The Tsuna Belt grants Akashi Sho a Ward Save (5+) and the Magic Resistance (1) special rule.

The Purifying Salt may be used whenever Akashi Sho issues or accepts a challenge. For the duration of the challenge, he may re-roll 1's To Hit, To Wound and when taking armour and Ward Saves.

Infantry

Ranks A unit of Infantry is required to be five or more models wide in order to be able to gain rank bonus. Unit Strength Infantry have a Unit Strength of 1. Line of Sight Infantry have a Line of Sight value of 1. Base Size  Infantry have an approved base size of 20x20mm, 25x25mm, 25x50mm, 30x30mm and 40x40mm.

Special Character

The Warhammer Army books each include the rules for several Special Characters within their pages. They are famous, named war leaders and mighty mages, tales of whose legendary (or nefarious) deeds have travelled far and wide, such as the Emperor Karl Franz, Grom the Paunch of Misty Mountain, the infamous Vampire Lord Vlad von Carstein and many more besides. Special Characters are exceptional individuals but, more importantly for our army selection purposes, they are unique – each can be included in an army only once.
